Not only is the rain itself welcome in the North County, but the clouds that bring it turn the sky into an ever-changing canvas of shapes and color, with new views not only each night, but from minute to minute during the day for those who take a minute to look up.

Even in the middle of the day, as you can see above, the clouds put on a show. Some of the most magnificent formations I have turned into posters on Zazzle, where they are available for purchase. Some of those are below

One place where I often walk with my camera is through the vineyards. Zenaida Vineyards is one of my favorites during rainy season. Here is a poster I shot there:

If one is fortunate enough to be outside at the right time, one can even capture a rainbow. Unfortunately, rainbows often happen when we are driving and there is no good place to pull over and park. This one I could see from my back porch.

I have gotten in the habit of taking a camera everywhere now, since I never know what I’ll find. That’s why I had it in the parking lot of this medical building in Templeton and was able to get this shot.

I’ll leave you with this tonight,  taken at Lawrence Moore Park. The tree is one of my favorites. You can see it in the daylight on my latest Squidoo lens: How Trees Help us Connect to Ourselves and to the World. Lovely sunsets occur over this park on a regular basis, especially during rainy season.
