Don’t Miss Art After Dark Tonight at Studios on the Park

Lamp by Dale Evers

This Dale Evers lamp is on display at Studios on the Park until January 26.

I did a quick photo walk through this afternoon, and once again was amazed at the creativity shown by the artists who displayed their hand-painted lamp creations for “Lighten Up.” I saw floor lamps, table lamps, and hanging lamps that will amaze you. The floor lamp above is by Dale Evers. It looks much better live than in a picture taken with less than ideal lighting.

I was lucky enough to find Laure Carlisle in on this visit and she was working on a light sculpture that changes color every few seconds — unless you don’t want it to. It should be on her studio wall soon. It is amazing! Don’t miss this.

Harold Spencer's Sketchbook

Another must-see is Harold Spencer’s studio. Besides his paintings,  his sketchbook is also on display. He calls these small drawings on the pages sketches that he does while waiting for breakfast. I and others present in his studio this afternoon uttered the word “masterpieces” in unison. Go in and judge for yourself.

If you can make the Art After Dark event tonight between 6 and 9, don’t miss it. There will be music, and the wine will be served by Peachy Canyon Winery. These are always great parties, but I like to take my photos before there are so many people that I can’t get photos. If you can’t make tonight’s event, stop and see the exhibit before January 26. You won’t be sorry.
