Walk with me along what's left of the Salinas River on May 4, 2011, and see what has changed since April. The poison hemlock and thistle are blooming and more than ducks are swimming.
Though the river is still beautiful in April, be careful of getting caught in the wet sand. Also watch out for the poison oak and the poison hemlock. I show you what they look like so you can respect them and teach your children to do the same.
