The countryside always looks picture perfect after it rains, and the sky is clear. So I’m sharing some photos I took near Bennett Way in Templeton on January 27, after it rained.
The North County Has Some Spectacular Sky Shows
If you live in North San Luis Obispo County, I hope you’ve been noticing our sky in the late afternoon and at sunset. If not, I’ve saved some photos of it for you here. Even if you have, you may have missed some of these.
The State of Atascadero Lake Breaks My Heart
What a difference a year with almost no rain makes to Atascadero Lake. Here are the photos to prove it.
It’s Definitely Autumn
Rain and colder weather have finally come to the North County, letting us feel autumn has arrived just in time for Thanksgiving. I finally had a chance to capture the change in seasons with my camera.
Chasing Clouds at Zenaida
I stopped off at Zenaida to photograph the sky tonight and was delighted to also be able to get close to some cattle I’ve wanted to catch with my camera for a long time. Here are a few of my sky shots and one of the cattle.

North County Backroads: Dover Canyon Road
Join me on a peaceful walk along Dover Canyon Road in Paso Robles. I took this walk last week, right after a rainy day. I began at the Willow Creek Mennonite Cemetery and walked to the bridge and back — about two miles round trip, with only the sounds of birds and the brook to be heard.
North County March Weather Has Me Spinning in Circles
Everything is about the weather this week, since we’ve gone from storm to storm with another possibly hitting us on Saturday. This offers you an on-the-spot-report on the weather and its effects at Lawrence Moore Park in Paso Robles on Friday afternoon, complete with pictures.
Down by the Salinas Riverside between the Storms
Walk with me along the Salinas River after today’s storm and see how full it’s become. You will be amazed if you haven’t seen it lately. I walked along the Salinas River Trail in Lawrence Moore Park in Paso Robles, observing the current of the overflowing river , the broken tree branches, and the cloud formations in the blue sky. Words can’t describe it, so I’ve brought you the pictures.
