On most Saturdays when I shop at the Templeton Farmers Market, there is music to be heard. I see a lot of new faces, but I have seen and heard Amaya many times. I first met her in December, 2009, at the Templeton Cowboy Christmas event. In the midst of a busy craft fair where she was selling her handmade Christmas Cards, her violin music helped people, including me, find her. Since then, I have seen her play often, alone or with Zach Angles. She was there again yesterday, and I thought she deserved to be featured, so I recorded her with my Flip.
I also saw new faces yesterday — Richard and Ben — who were playing for tips. They were far enough away from Amaya so they didn’t drown her out. As you watch the video, you’ll also see the vendors who set up on Crocker Street as I walk toward the sounds on that side of the park. Amaya usually plays across from the vendors on 6th Street. Enjoy.
