It seems summer barely ended in wine country before the leaves had changed to red and gold. I saw few autumn vineyards more colorful than those of my neighbor, Croad Vineyards. When Martin offered me the chance to come and photograph the harvest his year, I jumped at it. Here’s my tour of the Croad Vineyard. It was fascinating to me to see what happened to the grapes after they were harvested to turn them into wine. My tour not only includes a video of what happens to the harvest, but also videos from my walk around the entire vineyard. If you haven’t been to Croad, it’s well worth the trip. As of this writing, there’s still some color in the grape leaves. Besides, you can’t taste wine over the Internet.
Below is one of the scenes from the Croad vineyard I captured with my camera that are available in my Zazzle print on demand store: California Wine Country Memories and Gifts. It’s one of the few places you can find posters, puzzles, greeting cards, apparel, and decorative items for your home with scenes right from our own North County Wine Country. Next time someone comes to visit you from somewhere else, why not give them one of these items as a unique souvenir of their visit?
